The Company

KineticArchitecture, a not-for-profit, (501c3), is professional dance company based in New York City. Founded in 1994, the company brings to the stage their unique brand of sculptural, sensual partnering mixed with Buster Keaton-meets-Butoh style while striving to present work that is socially relevant, athletic, visually stunning, and artistically progressive.

KineticArchitecture has been presented most notably at the 92nd Street Y, The New York International Fringe Festival, Dance Forum, Peridance, WAX, the Imagine Festival of the Arts, Galapagos Artspace, the D.U.M.B.O. Dance Festival and Dharma Road in New York; at Diverseworks/Houston, the JCC of Houston, the Big Range Dance Festival/Texas, as well as the Weekend of Texas Contemporary Dance; DanceHouse/Philadelphia, B Square Gallery/Philly, the Philly Fringe, and at the Connecticut Meets New York Dance Festival.

Mission Statement

KineticArchitecture, the professional performance ensemble of the Davidson Educational Dance Company, focuses on the development and presentation of new work and community building outreach projects. The company exists in order to fulfill the mission of the Davidson Educational Dance Company. This mission is to promote education, understanding and the importance of the art of dance. To accomplish this, KineticArchitecture provides performances, programs, workshops and participation oriented activities to the public that will culturally enrich and enhance the surrounding community. The company engages in an active performing and touring schedule with a commitment to educating people of diverse backgrounds about the importance of movement and dance as a tool for personal expression and creative growth, which can be utilized to enhance the dynamic cultural fabric of a community.
